When you are applying your visa from your home country or applying for Blue Card Resident Permit from Munich, you need to provide the Anabin extract for validation of your university and degree. Since your foreign university and your degree certificate might be in English or any other language, you need to provide a supporting document to show that your university and degree are recognized thus support your visa/blue card application.
This process is not very difficult and straightforward. Simply do a google search for Anabin Database or open the direct link: https://anabin.kmk.org/anabin.html
Once you open the link, you will see a page like this:
For ease of access, we are going to translate this page in English language and the subsequent screenshot will be shown in the translated language only.
University Validation
Simply click on the link saying “Institution” on the left side of the screen.
Click on the Seek button to search for your university.
Now you will a new page opened on the screen, which will look like this.
Click on the open country selection to search for your respective country from where you have completed your studies.
Select your country and click of confirm country selection to proceed.
You can see the list of universities on the screen. You can either navigate from this page or to narrow down your search, click on All Places filter to select your city.
Once you have selected your city, you will find the list of universities in that city. Select your university and click on the + symbol to open the detail of the university.
A new pop up will open – you can either take a screenshot or click on print icon on the top right corner of the pop up to save it in PDF format on your system.
You may also click on Status to understand what the different nomenclature are being used and what is the meaning of H+ or H-.
Degree Validation
Open the direct link: https://anabin.kmk.org/anabin.html, you will see a page like this:
Simply click on the link saying “College Degrees” on the left side of the screen.
Now click on “Search for degrees” to search for your degree
Now you will a new page opened on the screen, and click on the open country selection to search for your respective country from where you have completed your degree.
Select your country and click of confirm country selection to proceed.
You can see the list of degrees on the screen. You can either navigate from this page or to narrow down your search, click on All Places filter to select your city.
Navigate to your degree and click on the + symbol to open the detail of the degree.
A new pop up will open – you can either take a screenshot or click on print icon on the top right corner of the pop up to save it in PDF format on your system.
You may also click on Graduation Class to understand what the different nomenclature are being used and what is the meaning of A2, A3 or A4.
